Grey Eagle Resort & Casino

Editor: Updated

Grey Eagle Resort & Casino combines gaming, a hotel, restaurants and an event centre on Tsuut’ina Nation near Calgary. A visit can be a short casino stop, a meal and concert, or an overnight stay, but the casino, hotel and event centre have distinct addresses and department contacts.

The resort is undertaking phased improvements through 2026–2027. Several facilities remain open, while dining and pool arrangements are affected. This guide separates the current operating information from future expansion plans so that a room reservation, dinner or gaming visit can be planned around the services actually available.

Renovations: what is open and what is changing

The resort update describes work continuing in phases through 2026–2027, with timelines subject to change. It says key gaming, hotel, dining and entertainment services continue operating. That should not be read as a promise that every familiar entrance, restaurant or amenity is available in its previous form.

Published gaming and temporary Blaze-menu periods checked November 1, 2026
Service Published period Planning detail
Slots 24 hours daily Other resort services have separate schedules.
Live tables Daily 10am–3am Closing falls on the next calendar day.
Craps Daily 11am–3am Starts later than the general live-table period.
Blaze menu at Stage Bar 10:30am–5pm Temporary menu service while the Blaze room is closed.
Blaze menu at Buffet Restaurant 5pm–1am This menu period does not establish the buffet’s themed meal hours.

Blaze Bar & Grill remains identified as temporarily closed on the dining page. Its menu is being served through other outlets during specified periods. The hotel swimming pool is also closed during the work, with alternative aquatic access arranged for registered guests through the front desk.

The buffet is advertised as remaining open through December 31, 2026, before a temporary renovation closure in January 2027. Ask about your exact date if a buffet meal is central to the visit. A general restaurant listing or a past photograph does not settle availability after that change.

Expansion plans are not current inventory

The update describes a future expanded floor with more than fourteen hundred slots. We have not substituted that planned figure for the casino overview’s advertised current selection. The update itself also uses a broader description of more than nine hundred operating slots while work continues.

Before a special trip, check the resort update and ask about the particular service you need. Confirm the route, opening arrangement or alternative directly rather than assuming that a future rendering depicts what you will find today.

Three addresses for a combined resort visit

The casino, hotel and Event Centre sit within the same resort but have different street numbers. Use the department-specific address from the quick facts when booking transport or meeting another guest. A room check-in and a concert arrival are not necessarily handled at the same entrance.

For a meal and show, decide where the group will gather first and share the same map point. Keep the restaurant reservation and tickets accessible so that staff can identify the correct booking. If you are staying overnight, confirm when the room will be available before arranging to meet everyone there.

Allow time for the route between facilities and any changes associated with construction. Ask about a step-free path, drop-off point or other assistance if those details affect the outing. The useful question is about the journey you need to make, rather than a general yes-or-no inquiry about accessibility.

For the wider area, our Calgary casino guide describes other venues separately. Their parking rules, opening schedules and hotel arrangements should not be applied to Grey Eagle.

Slot selection and twenty-four-hour access

The casino overview advertises a broad machine selection with denominations from one cent to twenty-five dollars. Read a denomination as the value of a credit, not automatically the full price of a round. Several credits or an optional feature can change the cash wager shown on the machine.

Before playing, identify the total stake, help screen and cash-out procedure. Check how the game counts wins and whether a displayed jackpot has a qualifying wager. Ask an attendant to explain unfamiliar controls before selecting a feature that commits money.

The dedicated casino page advertises 975+ slots, while cross-promotional summaries on the dining and room pages say 957. These are different published descriptions; we do not assign an unsupported date or explanation to the difference. We use the dedicated casino description and make clear that the figure is advertised, not a live count of vacant machines. Renovation work can also affect where particular games are located.

We do not reuse the overview’s dated progressive amounts as live jackpot meters. A value labelled with an earlier checking date should not be presented as the prize available now. Read the current machine display and qualification at the venue.

Twenty-four-hour slot access gives visitors flexibility, but other services keep their own hours. Plan food, transport and a finish time separately rather than assuming that a machine session ending late will leave every restaurant available.

For background, see how slots work and the slot rules guide, RTP and volatility. None of those concepts predicts the result of a particular visit.

Live tables, craps and Quartz Hybrid

The casino overview lists blackjack, including Double Down Madness, baccarat, roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker and craps. It also describes Quartz Hybrid terminals with multiple electronic game choices. Check which format you are using; an electronic terminal and a conventional live table can have different controls and procedures.

The general live-table schedule begins before the separately listed craps opening. If a specific game is the reason for travelling, confirm that game directly. A table count or pit-opening time does not guarantee every game is operating with a vacant seat throughout the day.

Understand a round before choosing a stake

Read the actual rules, minimum and payout at the table. For blackjack, establish the natural-blackjack payout and the available decisions. For a poker-based casino game, distinguish initial required wagers, later decisions and optional side bets. For roulette or craps, ask how the minimum applies to the placements you intend to make.

A smallest opening wager can be only part of the money you may need for a complete round. Ask staff to explain the full sequence if it is unfamiliar. Watching or sitting out briefly is a reasonable way to understand the procedure without increasing a planned budget.

Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Three Card Poker should not be treated as proof of a conventional player-versus-player poker room. Confirm any separate poker arrangement directly rather than relying on an cross-promotional summary elsewhere on the resort website.

Our blackjack payout explanation and side-bet guide provide background. Posted house information determines the actual game offered.

A Friday live-table period advertised to 3am ends at 3am Saturday. Slots continue on their 24-hour schedule, but that does not extend the table game, kitchen or box-office service. Use the actual next calendar date when arranging a late pickup.

High-limit rooms and smoking arrangements

The dedicated high-limit page distinguishes non-smoking tables, a smoking room with tables and high-limit slots, and the non-smoking Slot Club near the Stage Bar. Do not assume the whole casino has the same smoking arrangement or that every high-limit area offers the same games.

Its advertised high-limit blackjack range is twenty-five to two thousand dollars. Baccarat is described from ten dollars with maximum aggregate bets up to eighteen thousand dollars. Ask a host to explain what the current limit applies to, which table is available and how an aggregate cap works for the intended wagers.

The page also invites private-table requests, subject to availability. A request does not guarantee a reserved game, and a room description does not establish a suitable stake for every visitor. Use the available arrangement only if it fits the budget chosen before arriving.

If smoke exposure or a particular route affects your comfort, ask staff about the exact room and path between gaming and dining. The Stage Bar is separately identified as non-smoking on the dining page. Confirm the current setup during the renovation period instead of relying on the location shown in an old photograph.

Little Chief, the buffet and temporary Blaze service

The resort’s dining information needs to be read alongside its closure notices. A named restaurant remaining in the navigation does not mean the original room is open. Choose a dining plan using the service currently offered for your date.

Little Chief in the hotel

Little Chief offers Indigenous-inspired cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. For concert nights, the resort asks guests to reserve directly on 587-390-1400 or through its published restaurant email because the normal online reservation option is not available for those times.

If you need to leave for a performance, explain that deadline when reserving. Ask which menu and arrival time fit the interval. A reservation is more useful when it includes the party size and any dietary requirements than when it simply asks for a table “before the show.”

Buffet Restaurant

The buffet is inside the casino and identified as eighteen-plus. Check the daily feature and service period rather than assuming every theme runs every night. Its renovation timetable also matters for visits around the end of 2026 and the start of 2027.

Blaze, Stage Bar and late food

While Blaze is closed, the dining page places its menu at the Stage Bar from 10:30am to 5pm and at the Buffet Restaurant from 5pm to 1am. These are temporary service arrangements, not a reopening of the original Blaze room. Check last orders and the route to the correct outlet.

Grab-and-go choices and Eagle Bar are also described on the dining page. Ask about the actual menu available when you arrive, particularly after a concert. The official dining page is the starting point for current services.

Hotel rooms and the pool closure

The resort update describes a full-service hotel with 178 rooms. The room page lists Standard King, Premier King, Standard Two Queen, King Suite and Presidential Suite options. Select a room by the occupancy and facilities you need rather than assuming every category has the same layout.

Ask reservations about your dates, full charge, taxes, check-in time, cancellation terms and any deposit. If an accessible room, a particular bed arrangement or another requirement is essential, confirm it specifically and keep the written response with the booking.

Amenities during renovation

The hotel page says the swimming pool is closed and offers registered guests access to alternative aquatic facilities through the front desk. It names Killarney and Glenmore pools, while the resort update also refers to shuttle arrangements. Confirm where access is available, how it is arranged and the times for your stay.

Other advertised amenities include a fitness centre, outdoor hot tub and sauna, business facilities and selected guest activities. Check availability for the dates booked instead of treating a general list as a guarantee that every activity or amenity is ready on demand.

A hotel package can include specified services, but an ordinary room reservation does not automatically settle concert tickets, dinner or a casino event. Read the inclusion list and ask about anything that is not explicit. Keep separate confirmations where the bookings are separate.

The hotel page advertises free, secure parking as an amenity. Confirm the appropriate lot, registration and any overnight or event-day conditions for your own booking. That hotel listing does not establish unrestricted parking for every casino or concert visitor, especially while construction may affect the route.

Use hotel information and room categories for the current descriptions, then contact reservations on the number above for your particular stay.

Keeping hotel and family plans separate from gaming

Casino gaming is 18+. Bring valid government-issued photo identification; AGLC requires age checks where someone appears under 25. Event tickets, hotel bookings and family dining are separate from gaming admission. Check the actual ticket’s age condition rather than applying one part of the resort’s entry policy to every other area.

A resort can welcome families in some settings while restricting casino areas. The buffet is specifically identified as eighteen-plus, whereas Little Chief is presented as a hotel dining option for the whole family. Choose the venue for the actual party rather than assuming a room reservation gives every guest access to every restaurant or event.

For a performance, check the age condition attached to the ticket. For a hotel activity, ask whether it is available to registered guests, whether advance booking is needed and whether places remain. A child appearing in a general hotel booking form does not establish admission to a particular casino event.

If adults intend to split between gaming and other activities, settle supervision, meal times and meeting points before arriving. Keep a plan that works even if an amenity is closed or a scheduled activity is full. Confirm any essential feature with the hotel while there is still time to change the itinerary.

Comparing a room package with separate bookings

Start with the room and dates you actually need, then list the extras you would otherwise buy. Compare the complete cost and cancellation conditions. A package can be convenient without being the best fit if its included performance, meal or room category does not match the intended visit.

Ask whether tickets are issued immediately or collected later, whether a dining inclusion needs a reservation and whether every guest is covered. An inclusion described for two people should not be assumed to cover a larger room party. Check the arrival and redemption dates as well as the accommodation dates.

Keep copies of the inclusion list and confirmation. At check-in, ask how each benefit is arranged rather than waiting until a restaurant or show is about to begin. If a renovation affects an included service, ask the hotel to explain the alternative before relying on it.

Event Centre tickets and Stage Bar performances

The Event Centre and Stage Bar offer different entertainment settings. Check which venue is named on the listing and ticket. A casino performance, a seated concert and a general-admission event can have different entry, seating and arrival arrangements.

The contact page lists the Event Centre box office on 403-385-3747. Regular box-office hours are Wednesday and Sunday 10am–2pm and Friday 4pm–8pm, plus opening three hours before doors on show days. The venue-policy page says holidays are closed and show-day hours may vary. Confirm the actual collection arrangement for your performance rather than relying on an unrelated delivery or office schedule.

Read the event date, door time and show time separately. If you are collecting tickets, ask what confirmation or identification is needed. For accessible seating, age conditions or a companion arrangement, contact the box office before buying a ticket that may not suit the people attending.

The resort update gives different Event Centre capacities for general admission and seated layouts. Those are venue configurations, not a promise of available tickets or a count of places remaining for a show. Choose a ticket based on its actual seating or admission description.

The Event Centre venue policies direct accessible-seat inquiries to 403-385-3747 or the box office, with assistance to seats available on request. The Event Centre is non-smoking, including vapour and e-cigarettes; that policy is distinct from the casino’s designated smoking areas.

Check bags before travelling: the policy prohibits backpacks and oversized purses and requires bags smaller than 8 by 10 inches. Outside food and beverages are prohibited, and individual events can add restrictions. Confirm an essential-item accommodation directly rather than assuming a hotel or restaurant purchase changes the event’s entry rules.

Combine dinner and the event with enough time to reach the correct entrance. If the group separates for gaming, agree on where to reunite. A performance ticket does not require a casino session, and a room booking does not imply admission unless a package explicitly includes it.

Group visits, meetings and celebrations

The resort has event-booking pages for meetings, conferences, weddings and other functions. Begin an inquiry with the date, attendance, intended activity and food requirements. Ask which room or service is proposed, especially when renovations affect the familiar arrangement.

For a formal function, request a written proposal naming the venue, access time, layout, equipment, catering, full charge and cancellation terms. A conference, wedding or concert has different setup needs from a small restaurant booking. Do not infer a room capacity from a photograph or the total size of the property.

For an overnight group, arrange rooms and event services as distinct items unless the resort supplies one combined agreement. Confirm how guests book, what deadline applies and which services are included. Share department-specific arrival instructions so that everyone reaches the correct place.

Gaming can remain optional within a group outing. Give guests a way to enjoy the meal, main function or performance without adding a gambling session. Agree on a departure plan that does not depend on one person finishing a game at the last moment.

Planning the full cost of the visit

Separate room, meal, ticket and transport costs from any money set aside for gaming. A full resort outing can involve several payments even when each individual activity seems modest. Check the inclusions before counting a package as covering the whole trip.

Set a spending limit and a finish time before play. Include all machine and table spending in the same amount rather than treating each area as a fresh allowance. Keep return transport money available regardless of the gaming result.

The budget calculator helps organise those categories. The support page provides help information if gambling is becoming difficult to manage. Use the Alberta venue directory for other destinations, with each property’s facilities kept separate.

Grey Eagle Resort & Casino FAQs

Which Grey Eagle address and phone should I use?

All three facilities are on Grey Eagle Drive, Tsuut’ina, AB T3E 3X8. Use 3777 and 403-385-3777 for the casino; 3779 and 403-719-8777 for hotel reservations; and 3775 and 403-385-3747 for the Event Centre box office. Share the appropriate meeting point and check the route during renovations. One department’s booking does not automatically reserve another service.

Is the resort open during renovations, and are 1,400+ slots already available?

The resort says key services remain operating during phased work in 2026–2027, with timelines subject to change. The 1,400+ slot figure is a future expansion plan. The dedicated casino page currently advertises 975+ slots and 32 tables; other resort summaries differ. Treat these as published descriptions, not a live inventory or guarantee that a particular machine is available.

What are the gaming hours and does craps start with other tables?

Slots are listed as 24 hours daily. General live tables are daily 10am–3am, while craps is separately listed 11am–3am. These schedules were checked November 1, 2026. Friday’s live-table period ends at 3am Saturday. Confirm the particular game, staffed table and posted limits before a special journey; all-night slots do not extend every other service.

Are the high-limit rooms all non-smoking?

No. The operator distinguishes a non-smoking high-limit tables room, a smoking room with tables and high-limit slots, and a non-smoking Slot Club near the Stage Bar. Advertised blackjack limits are $25–$2,000; baccarat starts at $10 with aggregate maximum bets up to $18,000. Ask a host about the actual table, aggregate cap, route and availability during construction.

Where is Blaze food served, and when will the buffet close?

Blaze’s room is listed as temporarily closed. Its menu is offered at Stage Bar 10:30am–5pm and Buffet Restaurant 5pm–1am. The resort update says the buffet remains open through December 31, 2026, before a temporary January 2027 renovation closure. Confirm your date, menu and last orders. Temporary Blaze-menu service does not establish the themed buffet’s meal hours.

Can hotel guests use the swimming pool?

The hotel pool is listed as temporarily closed. The hotel page offers registered guests complimentary access to Killarney and Glenmore pools through the front desk; the resort update also mentions shuttle service. Confirm the actual facility, times and transport for your dates. Outdoor hot tub, sauna and other advertised amenities need their own availability check; they do not mean the indoor pool has reopened.

How do I arrange concert tickets or accessible seating?

Call 403-385-3747. Regular box-office hours are Wednesday and Sunday 10am–2pm and Friday 4pm–8pm; it opens three hours before doors on show days, with holiday closures and possible show-day changes. Venue policies direct accessible-seat requests to the box office and describe assistance to seats on request. Check the actual event’s age, bag, seating and entry conditions.

Can families use the casino buffet, Little Chief and every event?

The casino buffet is expressly 18+, while Little Chief in the hotel is presented as family dining. Casino gaming is 18+; bring valid government-issued photo ID, with AGLC checks where someone appears under 25. Check each performance’s ticket conditions. A room reservation or family dining plan does not grant a minor access to an adult gaming area.

Does a hotel reservation settle dining, show tickets and parking?

Only the services expressly included in the confirmation are covered. The hotel advertises free, secure parking; confirm the correct lot and any registration, overnight or event conditions for your booking. Dining and tickets can need separate reservations. For concert-night Little Chief tables, the resort requests direct contact on 587-390-1400 because its normal online reservation option is unavailable then.
